October 1 - October 8, 2009
Lesson Notes: October 8, 2009
Thursday October 8, 2009
Scripture Reading: Ps. 121
Lesson Text: Ps. 23
Topic: Forward With Christ:
God called us to this magnificent eight days celebration of His goodness. We have been encouraged, we have been blessed tremendously, and we have received a Spiritual Revival and a Fresh Anointing:
A few reflections from the past seven days:
- We were encourage to come to Jesus and drink of the water of life freely:
(Jn. 7: 37,38); engage in true worship (Jn. 4:24). Also note that the spirit must control the outer man.
- A Spiritual Revival is needed: Why? - We have fallen; We have backsliden; Things happened among us that should not have occurred. What is required of us? - Hos. 10:12 - Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy….. Also read 2 Chron. 7:12-14 “If my people that are called by my name would humble themselves, pray, seek my face and turn……….”
- To the Men: God wants to use us. Step up and work. Ex. 4: 10 –13: Moses had a condition, God had the solution. Like Nehemiah (Neh. 6:3 ) we are doing a good work, and we can not come down. Be committed. Ask God for wisdom like Solomon did (1 kings 3:3-10)
- A Fresh Anointing is needed: Refer to David’s Anointing: 1 Sam. 16:1-13; Also see the symbol of the Holy Oil - Ex. 30:22-33. God wants to do a great work among us and we need a Fresh Anointing with the Holy Ghost for the mission – Lk. 4:18,19,21; Acts 1: 8; Matt. 3:16, 17
- Women Favoured by God: Sarah, Rachael, Samson’s mother, Hannah, Shunamite woman, Elizabeth, Mary. There is no limit to God’s favor. When you walk in God’s favour, the impossible becomes possible: You will reproduce. See Deut. 28: 1-14, 25-30, 46,47. Ask God for something special.
- Everyday Evangelism: We are called to evangelize the world under the power of the Holy Spirit. Follow the example of Philip (Acts 8:26 –38); learn from the little maid who had a testimony (2 Kings 5: 1-19) and Paul and Silas who were in prison (Acts 16:16-34). See Matt. 28: 16-20; Mark 16: 14-18; Acts 1:4-8. We must receive the lost Joyfully – Lk. 15: 22-24
- Prayers that availeth much: Ps.51 – A prayer for forgiveness, cleansing, pardon, restoration, commitment and continued prosperity for Jerusalem. Follow Matt. 7:7,8 – Ask, Seek, and Knock, and you shall be blessed. The are many pathways of prayer. For example, consecration, concern for others, illnesses, battles of life. Follow the pathways and get in touch with God.
We have worshipped for seven days, and now we have come to the eighth day of our feast, but we have not come to an end: Please read hymn # 166 in the Melodies of Praise Hymnal - The End Is Not Yet, Praise The Lord.
Where do we go from here? FORWARD WITH CHRIST! A new beginning!
Read Ps. 23: Like David, we go forward with confidence in the Favour of God. Under God’s favour, you will be blessed, restored, guided, protected, provided for, and goodness and mercy shall follow you on your journey with God.
Having been Spiritually Revived and Blessed with a Fresh Anointing, support our Mission (Matt. 28:19-20; Acts 1:8, Lk. 4:18,19,21) with your Prayers, Time, Talents, Service, Tithes, and commitment to do God’s will (1 Chron. 22:19). Let’s go forward with Christ with renewed strength and a stronger faith. Let our sacrifices be “a broken spirit and a broken and a contrite heart which the Lord will not despise” and let us willingly pass under God’s rod and staff so that He can be glorified in our midst as we journey with Him.
May the Lord richly bless you and may the peace of the Lord be with you. Amen.
Go and Serve the Lord. |
